About the Blom Family

Eight years ago Wim and Irene, together with the family, moved from the former Transvaal - North West Province to this beautiful area.
Montagu is regarded as one of the safest villages in South Africa.
The scenery, friendly local people and the good wine and food contributes to the best experience.

Some of our guests who's been visiting Blommenhuis during the past weeks, had the privaledge to meet the miracle baby, Aleyna who was born on 15 October 2011 at 25 weeks, weighing 710 grams. After 107 days in hospital (Cape Town and Worcester) she came home on 01 February 2012. She is doing well, growing by the day and weighs 3,6 kg by now.

Chef Heinrich, their son, is the proud head chef and co-owner of the highly recommended Jessica's Restaurant.
Jaco is the friendly guy who's spoiling guests on the Wine tours and their daughter, Adele and husband Werner are busy with a new venture in town.

Irene is an artist and the founder of the Montagu Art Association.
She had sold numerous paintings throughout the country and abroad.
She works mainly in oil and her work can be viewed at Jessica's restaurant as well.
